Full name: Ana Cristina Pereira Marinho.
When and where were you born?
I was born in Madureira, Rio de Janeiro, on February 28th, 1966.
Where do you live?
In Caxias, just a few blocks away from Cultura.
How and when did you start working at Cultura?
In February, 2003. After sending in my resumé, I got a phone call telling me to come here for a written exam and an interview with Rosângela Valle. I had some training and... .here I am.
What is it like to work here?
It's great. The colleagues are fantastic people and professionals and the atmosphere couldn't be better.
Have you ever been abroad?
Yes. I visited the US in 1992 and spent a month there travelling from coast to coast.
What are your plans for the future?
I intend to apply for a Master's Degree in English or Applied Linguistics, but I don't know exactly when.. ...maybe after I retire.
If you weren't a teacher you'd be… unhappy and frustrated. I was born to be a teacher and I can't see myself doing anything else.
Do you speak any other languages?
Yes, I do. I speak Spanish fluently.
What do you do in your spare time?
Well, not that I have much of it, but.... I watch TV with my family or go to the cinema.
Radio or TV?
TV, but only films or TV series. I hate Soap Operas.

Fernanda Montenegro, Maryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Linda Hamilton, Liam Neeson, Robin Williams...
Favourite kind of music:
I am very eclectic. I appreciate all kinds of music, except for funk (which, in my opinion is not music, but just noise)

Day or night? Day
Teaching is enjoyable because... dealing with different people is very exciting. You not only teach, but also learn a lot from them.
But teaching is sometimes stressing because... of the amount of things to prepare and correct.
If you had the opportunity to say something during a few minutes on TV worldwide, what would you say?
That people all over the world should try to respect each others´ way of lives and beliefs because this would be the path to understanding, justice and peace.
Family... is everything
Life... is too precious to be wasted.
Death... is something hard to be dealt with
Money... is part of everyone's life, and we all need it to survive
